Overview

nowiretransfer is a free browser-based tool for moving files and text between devices. It is built to collect as little as possible: there are no accounts, no sign-ups and no profiles.

What data we collect

Content you share

Any text you paste and any files you upload are stored temporarily so the receiving device can pick them up with the share code.

Temporary metadata

For each share we store the generated 6-character code, file names and sizes, the creation time and the expiry time. Standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and timestamps) may be recorded briefly for security, abuse prevention and debugging.

Automatic deletion

Every share has an expiry you choose, from one hour up to seven days. When a share expires, its files and text are deleted and the share code stops working. We do not keep a permanent archive of your content.

No accounts, no profiles

We never ask for your name, email address or phone number, and no personal account is created when you use the service. We do not sell or rent any data.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

The site uses only the storage required to operate the transfer flow in your browser. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic, and we may display advertising (for example Google AdSense) to keep the service free. Advertising and analytics partners may set cookies or use device identifiers to serve and measure ads. You can manage cookies in your browser settings, and you can review Google's practices at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Your shared files and text are never used for advertising.

Security

Transfers are encrypted in transit and downloads are released only after the server verifies a valid, unexpired share code. Files are not publicly listed or browsable.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
