How to transfer photos from Android to PC Windows 10

Quick Answer

Open nowiretransfer on your Android phone, choose the photos and save the share. Enter the 6-character code on your Windows 10 PC, then download them. Each file must be 250 MB or smaller. For a large offline batch, connect a data-capable USB cable and copy the DCIM folder instead.

Send photos or files with the nowiretransfer browser tool

Step by step

  1. 1. Open the site on Android

Open nowiretransfer.xyz in Chrome or another modern Android browser. Start with the Send form on the phone that holds the pictures.

  2. 2. Select your Android pictures

Tap the file picker and choose photos from the available camera or image folders. Each picture must be 250 MB or smaller. If an app hides its pictures, export them first.

  3. 3. Create a share after uploading

Choose 1 hour, 24 hours, 3 days or 7 days and press Save & get code. Wait for the real upload progress to complete, then note the 6-character code.

  4. 4. Enter the code on Windows 10

Open nowiretransfer.xyz in the Windows browser, type the code in Receive and press Open share. The phone and PC can use different internet connections.

  5. 5. Download into a PC folder

Download the pictures, then check a few files in your destination folder. Keep the phone originals and your code private. Files disappear at expiry, or after recipient access if you enabled View once.

Other ways to make the copy

USB for a large local batch

Unlock Android, choose File transfer and copy DCIM in File Explorer. This avoids an internet upload and does not need a cloud account.

Phone Link for recent pictures

If your Windows 10 setup supports the photo view, use Phone Link for recent Android photos and screenshots. Do not treat it as a complete video or library export.

Google Photos for existing backups

Download backed-up pictures on the PC using the same Google account. Check Original quality versus Storage saver before calling the download an original.

Windows 10 support matters

Microsoft ended standard Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025. Browser transfer instructions do not make an unsupported PC secure. Keep the browser current and use a supported Windows version or an applicable extended-update plan.

Common questions

Can I transfer Android photos to Windows 10 without a cable?

Yes. Open nowiretransfer on the Android phone, select your photos and save the share. Open the site on Windows 10, enter the code and download. Both devices need internet. The browser route does not require Bluetooth pairing, a Microsoft account or an Android app, and each file is limited to 250 MB.

Where are Android camera photos when I connect USB?

Camera photos are usually in DCIM, often inside a Camera subfolder. Screenshots may be under Pictures, and downloaded images may be under Download. The folders vary by phone and app. Unlock the phone and select File transfer first; otherwise File Explorer may show no accessible storage even though the phone is charging.

Should I use Phone Link for my whole photo library?

Do not assume Phone Link exposes your entire library. Microsoft’s photo experience varies by Windows version and app rollout; the traditional Photos view focuses on recent Android photos and screenshots, not every folder or video. For a complete copy, use USB, a cloud export or select the required files in the browser.

Do the phone and Windows PC need the same Wi-Fi?

Not for a nowiretransfer share opened with its code. The phone uploads through its internet connection and the PC downloads through its own connection. They can be on different networks. Keep mobile data costs in mind, and do not confuse this with nearby transfer tools that rely on device proximity or local connectivity.

Why is my Android phone not showing in Windows?

First unlock the phone and check its USB notification is set to File transfer, not charging only. Try a cable known to support data and a different USB port. Manufacturer menus can differ. If USB still fails, browser sharing avoids device detection, provided both devices have internet and the files fit the limit.

I built nowiretransfer after getting tired of emailing screenshots and links from my Windows laptop to my iPhone. Add a file or paste some text, then open it on the other device with a short code. No account needed.
